Leaky Drain Services
(Residential & Commercial)
The compression nut creates a watertight connection between two pipes. You will experience leaks when it is loose.
The size of the leak depend on how loose the nut is and the intensity of the flow. Fixing a loose compression nut is not a time-consuming process and our professionals will complete the work for you very quickly and efficiently, while checking on the other parts of your drain system to ensure that everything is working properly.
You will have worn compression nut when your sink is old, or the compression nut is worn due to wear and tear.
A worn compression Nut will keep leaking until it is replaced. Similar to the loose compression nut repair, replacing a worn compression nut is both inexpensive and quick.
It is possible that the pipes would not be the right length, or the work not done properly after a new kitchen sink installation.
Leaks can happen with too long or too short pipes. Ill-fitted drains cause pressure, which can be the reason for leakage and water damage if not fixed. Simply call Aras Plumbing and our professional plumbers will help.
The drain is usually consisted of three parts, a tailpipe, a J-shaped pipe called p-trap and another pipe which takes the water to the main waste line.
Any damage to these pipes will cause leaks in your drain system. Leaks worsen over time, and pipes become worn for several reasons such as old age, clogs, or internal erosion. Our professional team members can take a look at your drain system and decide whether you need to just replace one part or the whole drain system.
Sometimes the water pressure can be too high for the sink, which causes leaking even if the pipes and seals are working perfectly well. The best water pressure for a house is between 40 to 45 psi and some pressure regulators are set at 50, 60 or 70.
Water pressure can be assessed by applying an inexpensive pressure gauge to your main water supply. If you would like to have a plumber adjust the water pressure for you, our licenced and professional plumbers at Aras Plumbing can help you with that.
It is best to have a professional take care of the leak patching for you and resolve the issue completely. However, may want to take care of the problem yourself until help arrives.
In that case, shut off the water and make sure that nothing is left in the pipe before you apply some epoxy putty to the leak to create a temporary seal. You can also create a seal around the leaky pipe, using some repair tape, before help arrives.
This is a temporary solution to prevent water damage until help arrives. Also place some towels under the leaky pipe and use a bucket to catch the water.
